Precision Meets Power

Energy powers everything—from the lights in our homes to worldwide communication and transportation. Without reliable energy, modern life simply stops.

Fusion Power Plants

Fusion power plants promise nearly limitless, clean energy by mimicking the process that powers the sun. They will produce no long-lived radioactive waste and have no risk of meltdown. Having them would be a game-changer for the future of energy.

Making fusion energy a reality means dealing with extreme conditions and extraordinary materials. It takes highly specialized capabilities and even special certifications. In other words: That’s exactly our thing.

Specialized Assembly

Our teams are experts when it comes to specialized assembly: Cryogenics? Cleanroom requirements? Nuclear safety? We can handle it. Worldwide and for exceptionally unique customers and projects.

Accelerator Driven Systems (ADS)

ADS are advanced nuclear reactors that use a particle accelerator to generate neutrons through a process called spallation. They are being explored both as a safer form of nuclear energy and as a solution for reducing the volume and half-life of nuclear waste: Thanks to transmutation, the final volume of residual waste is reduced by a factor 100 and the natural radiation level is already reached after 300 years (as opposed to 300,000 years). In this sense, it offers an opportunity to optimise the geological disposal.

Here, the knowledge we at RI have about particle accelerators finds its application in nuclear engineering and power generation.
