How did you come to join RI?

After my previous job, I was looking for a new challenge in an innovative environment. It was during the „Nacht der Technik“ (“Night of Technology”) event series that I first came across RI, and Decided to submit an unsolicited application.

Even during the application process, I had the impression that it wasn't just my technical qualifications that mattered here – my interests were also genuinely taken into account.

How was your onboarding?

The multi-day onboarding program not only gave me a solid understanding of the company structure, but also allowed me to meet colleagues from various departments. My onboarding began almost immediately with support work on a specific project, which was set for delivery and commissioning just a few months later. Despite joining during an advanced project phase, I had the freedom to actively contribute. The open work environment made it easy for me to ask questions and find my footing. 

 What exactly do you do at RI? 

I currently work as a project engineer in the field of control systems. My responsibilities include developing requirement specifications for device- or system-specific drivers, including testing and integration into the overall system for normal-conducting accelerator systems. What I find especially exciting is the balance between working independently and collaborating as a team to bring together all the interlinked components into a fully functioning system. 

What makes RI special to you? 

What makes RI stand out to me is its open corporate culture, short decision-making paths, and respectful communication on equal footing. There's a strong emphasis on teamwork and individual development opportunities. I really appreciate the variety and diversity in the projects – customer requirements can be quite demanding at times, which keeps the work both dynamic and rewarding.
