How did you come to join RI?

A good friend and former colleague kept telling me about RI– with great enthusiasm. His words were: "This is perfect for you. Apply – you won’t regret it!" Eventually, I listened to him and applied – right in the middle of the COVID pandemic, which didn’t make the step any easier. But after the very first conversation with Mr. Bauer and Mr. Wischet, I knew: this could be a great fit. The mix of exciting tasks, a clear perspective, and the sense that no two days are alike convinced me.

Today, I’m glad I made that move – and every day, I’m happy to be part of the RI team.

How did your onboarding go?

My onboarding was an exciting and educational time. I had the chance to get to know many new materials and learn how to work with them properly. What impressed me most was how much value the company places on order, precision, and cleanliness – that really won me over from the start. A real highlight for me was getting to know beam welding technology. This innovative method immediately fascinated me and marked the beginning of my journey toward becoming a welding supervisor – a path I continue with great motivation and passion. What truly made the onboarding experience special, though, was the team: colleagues who shared their knowledge with me and supported me with their experience. I’m very grateful for that.

What exactly do you do at RI?

After completing my training as an International Welding Specialist, I found my focus at RI in welding supervision for beam welding. In particular, I’m responsible for our state-of-the-art laser and electron beam welding systems, which continue to amaze me every day. My tasks include regularly reviewing the qualifications of our welders and ensuring that all processes meet our high quality standards. I support our welding supervision (SFI) in assessing weld positions, accessibility, and welding sequences, and I’m closely involved in inspections and non-destructive testing procedures.

Another key area of my work is the qualification of welding procedures. This also involves preparing and reviewing welding instructions, as well as proper inspections before, during, and after welding. In addition to quality assurance, I also care deeply about the smooth operation of our machines – I handle regular maintenance and order spare parts when necessary. This ensures that our technology is always ready for use and that we can carry out our work with the highest precision.

What makes RI special to you?

For me, it’s very clear: the opportunities for both professional and personal development. Here, development isn’t just encouraged – it’s actively supported. Our supervisors always have an open ear and guide us purposefully on our path. What motivates me especially is that we get to work on forward-looking projects with the latest technologies. That makes our work not only exciting but also meaningful – because we’re actively shaping the future.
