Uwe N.
CNC Miller
How did you come to join RI?
In 2004, I joined ACCEL (the predecessor company of RI) as a maintenance locksmith. My former employer went bankrupt, and I came to ACCEL through a temporary work agency. In January 2005, I obtained my permanent contract. At that time, I was responsible for the maintenance and repair of machines. This allowed me to move around the entire company, and as a result, I am familiar with all departments and many colleagues. Eventually, I started working more frequently in the locksmith department because the workload was high. Through the locksmith department, I got into conventional milling and turning. With the European XFEL project, I started working with CNC turning. J. Plehn trained me at that time. The series production went exceptionally well. After completing the main project, I moved to the coupler assembly in House 30. It was a fantastic project with great colleagues. After the project ended, it became too quiet for me here. I resigned and opened a gym in the Hunsrück region. However, after two years, I realized that some things didn't go as I had imagined. So, I drove by RI and asked for a new employment contract. In August 2018, I started working again at RI as a CNC miller. At that time, all colleagues in the milling department trained me.
