Fusion Equipment

Fusion is the process that powers our sun. It is a form of power generation relying on nuclear fusion reactions that produce heat. Devices designed to harness this heat for electricity generation are known as fusion reactors. Still in an experimental stage now, their extreme working conditions pose challenges to the design and engineering of the components and the materials used.

RI is proud to supply some of the key components of the ITER fusion reactor in France but also to other projects such as JT60, IFMIF, and DIFFER.

RI is contributor of key components such as

  • Torus and Cryostat Cryopumping System (TCCS)
  • Cryogenic distribution system
  • Inner Vertical Target (IVT)
  • Accelerating grids for neutral and diagnostic beam injection systems
  • Warm Regeneration Box (WRB)
